“The devil abhors light and truth because these remove the ground of his working.”

– Watchman Nee

The Beginning

I left Columbus, Ohio to visit my sister in East London, South Africa. While enjoying a South African tradition called a braai – barbeque/cookout for us Americans – I happened to ask the man standing next to me how long he had been a believer and how he came to the faith.

Next thing I knew I was 20 minutes into his powerful testimony.  A story filled with many ups and downs – which is all of our stories – and how God had met him in all of those places.

As he spoke, I felt the Spirit moving inside me, as if to say, “Each person has a story – you should share their stories.” At the same time, the scripture verse Revelation 12:11 entered my mind.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

The Spirit impressed upon me the power of each of the stories of the children of God – the famous, and the unknown. That same night I looked up thewordoftheirtestimony.com to see if the site name was already taken. To my surprise it wasn’t, so I took it and began the work on this project.

The Mission

Simply to tell the stories of believers around the world. In their own words, with their own experiences.

To encourage believers in their own walk by hearing how God is working all around the world in the lives of their spiritual brothers and sisters.

To rejoice with those who are in a season of harvest and to stand by those in the valley. To learn from those who have already walked the path you currently find yourself.

To bring into the light the designs and strategies of the enemy through the testimonies of the saints, thereby rendering the enemy powerless through the stories of the grace of God.

Core Belief

“No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

(John 3:13-17)
